I feel embarrassed that I bought this book. June 21, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was willing to quit and very open to try this book and CD. The book is a quick read with a lot of short sentences like eg The cancer risk reduces with every year that you don't smoke, smoking kills aso. It prepares you a bit how to listen to the CD and gives you the typical advices why it's better to stop the habit... After reading you listen to the CD...you try to relax...and it doesn't work...Hepburn is simply no capable of hypnotizing. It's not only her voice. She keeps annoying you by telling you again why it's good to quit and so on.
Here's an author trying to make a bit of extra money.
Didn't work June 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I tried, I tried 5 times and still a no no. The CD is very relaxing so it gets 2 stars for this, So I will add this to Allen Carr and Paul Mckennas methods that haven't worked
Stopped!! March 3, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Read the book one night thinking "Yeah Yeah!" But I have not had a cigg since and know I will never have another cigg!! Fantastic and well recommended
Amazing January 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I smoked around 30 - 40 ciggs a day and have tried most ways to give up smoking.. Out of all the nicotine products available i found the patches seemed to ease the cravings... however, i still ended up smoking again as the cravings and the thought of enjoying a ciggie would not go away. I bought the cd and was amazed by it... I went 2 weeks without a single thought of having a cig ... my downfall was i was too cocky and whilst out having a drink 2 weeks later lit one up for the sake of it.. thinking i could play the cd the next day and go back the way i was... But that never happened i kept procrastinating... But now i have done it again and have gone a year now. I have also made sure not to make that mistake again. Her voice is a bit annoying, but somehow it works... She does say that its no miracle cure anddddd you MUST want to do it and COMITTMENT is the key.
I thought I would never stop smoking December 4, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'd like to keep this simple because that's what happened with this book / CD. I smoked at least 20 a day (sometimes far more) for nearly 20 years. One day I decided that enough was enough and I tried this book. I am pretty much the most cynical person I know. I read chapters 1 & 2, as instructed, and then listened to the CD. I made sure I was alone and that I wouldn't be disturbed. I haven't had a single drag since, and that was over 8 months ago. I don't even think about smoking any more. It's as if someone came along and flicked a switch. If I ever meet Susan Hepburn, or if she ever reads this, I would like her to know that she has, quite literally, changed my life.
